A supplemental conference to PAAM’s 2021 Conference on the Four Cardinal Organs

Anthroposophic psychology is unique in its understanding of the nature of the inter-relationship of organic disturbance and psychological symptoms.  In this conference, we will explore the connection of soul imbalances to the four cardinal organs: lung, liver, kidney and heart.

This conference is offered as an opportunity for psychological deepening related to the annual medical part-time training organized by the Physician’s Association for Anthroposophic Medicine (PAAM).  PAAM’s offerings include a four-week Monday evening online series focusing on artistic activities from April 5-26, 8:30-10pm EDT, and a 6-day training week online featuring James Dyson MD, Sunday May 2 - Friday May 7, 2-3:30 EDT, all focused on exploring the four major organs. In PAAM’s keynote sessions of the training week, James Dyson MD, also a senior faculty of AAP, will lead us together with other anthroposophical medical providers in a study of these four organs (3 sessions) and a study of psychiatry and psychosomatics (3 sessions).  PAAM’s conference is open to doctors, nurses, and therapists.  We encourage eligible mental health practitioners to register directly with PAAM to take advantage of these offerings:  https://anthroposophicmedicine.org/event-4196721

In the weekday mornings of May 3-7, 11-12:30am EDT, Associates of the Association for Anthroposophic Psychology will facilitate an exploration of psychological disturbances which have particular relationships to each of the cardinal organs.  We will consider obsessions and compulsions, addiction, depression, anxiety, psychological coherence and the healthy incarnation of the “I” or ego organization.  There will be opportunities for participants to engage directly with the topics and share perspectives and experiences from their clinical practice.

This conference is intended for those practitioners who have completed basic training in anthroposophic psychology, and clinicians who are interested in the programs of the Association for Anthroposophic Psychology.

Presenters:  Zheni Nasi M.A.; Susan Overhauser, Ph.D., Alex Schneider, LMHC, and Tonya Stoddard, LCSW
